Abstract

Corrosion, a global phenomenon causing irreversible damage to metals by chemical and electrochemical reactions, underscores their vulnerability to diverse mechanisms and factors. Hence, manufacturers must strike a balance between cost-effective production and ensuring optimal corrosion resistance, considering specific usage environments, and without compromising industry standards. This review briefly explores various factors and types of metallic corrosion. Additionally, it delves into multiple strategies aimed at preventing and mitigating the occurrence of the phenomenon.
